In a mix of harp music, poetry, and personal narrative, Meredith Davies Hadaway explores the power of art to create connection, wholeness, and healing. An award-winning poet and teacher of ecopoetry, Hadaway is the author of The River is a Reason, Fishing Secrets of the Dead and At the Narrows (due out in 2015). Hadaway is also a Celtic harpist who is completing her practicum as a therapeutic musician, playing harp at the bedside for patients at Shore Medical Center in Chestertown and Hospice Queen Anne’s in Centreville.

Hadaway has received fellowships from the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, an Individual Artist Award from the Maryland State Arts Council, and multiple Pushcart nominations. She was a contributor at the inaugural Bread Loaf Orion Environmental Writers’ Conference and served as the 2013-14 Rose O’Neill Writer-in-Residence at Washington College.

As with all our Creative Lives lectures, food and wine will be served.

Thank you to all who attended what was a beautiful event. And Thank you to Meredith Davies Hadaway for sharing her gifts with us!
