September 2015 – Call for Artists

“Handmade in America” Juried Fine Craft Exhibition

Drop-off: 8/30/15, 1-3 p.m.; 8/31/15 10 a.m.- 1 p.m.
Pick-up: 9/27/15, 1-3 p.m.; 9/28/15 10 a.m.- 1 p.m.

Chestertown RiverArts will celebrate artful living with our first juried fine arts and crafts show opening First Friday September 4, 2015. The curators seek to present the best of American craft in quality and design. Interested participants are invited to submit new work in ceramics, jewelry, fiber arts, glass and wood, both small scale and large scale that reflects mastery of craft. Please complete the entry form below by August 10*. Work will be reviewed and invitations issued to participate. Judge’s awards will be presented opening night September 4th.

*Paper and handwritten applications cannot be accepted be accepted for this show.

Thank you for your interest in participating in a RiverArts Gallery Exhibition. Hanging fees for regular exhibitions are $10 per piece for members, $20 for non-members. Your membership must be up to date to qualify for the member rate. Please call the Gallery during regular hours (Tues.-Fri., 11 am-4 pm) to check membership status.  Artists must agree to the following when submitting work to be entered in a RiverArts Gallery Exhibition.

Memorandum of Understanding
I understand that Chestertown RiverArts will handle the sale of the work for the duration of the show, charge the appropriate sales tax, and divide the sale 65% to the artist and 35% to Chestertown RiverArts. *Please note this when pricing items.• I agree to keep the works on display at the Chestertown RiverArts gallery for the full length of the exhibition and will be responsible for picking up the work on the scheduled pick-up dates or making an alternative arrangement when special circumstances apply.• During the time my work remains at Chestertown RiverArts, I agree that Chestertown RiverArts will not be responsible for any damage to the work not covered under Chestertown RiverArts’ existing insurance, and agree that this insurance only covers the cost of the materials and not the perceived value of the work.• I agree that any other type of insurance for these works of art (i.e. perceived value) may be carried by me at my own discretion and cost.This contract should be completed online in advance of bringing your art to be hung in a RiverArts Gallery Exhibition.
