The class is based on the firm conviction that all people are creative. Moreover, finding and nurturing your creative self can tap into a source of satisfaction, meaning and joy that can stay with you your entire life! Whether you’re 18 or 80, you ARE creative and your creativity can infuses all the rest of your life with resilience and confidence .
This class is an enjoyable process in which you can discover what way your creativity most joyfully manifests itself. Maybe you find your flow in gardening, painting, creative writing, or even helping out a cause you believe in!? This course helps you identify the path that comes most naturally and joyfully for you. This is a journey designed for two kinds of people:
Those who have admired all types of art but have not identified themselves as an artist.
Those who have been working on art but want to make greater, more focused strides. Adding a supportive mentor and peer feedback you can make greater strides towards the artist you’d like to grow to become.
The 8 week course is a hybrid between creativity and lifelong learning. It methods include traditional classroom teaching, individual coaching and online learning tools to help you find, and make real progress on your unique creative path.
Above all, this is a safe space, both flexible and structured, in which you can discover, unleash and nurture your creative self. We’re confident that that self will, in turn, can steer, steady and sweeten all phases of life.
Structure of the course:
Part 1 & 2: Coaching Phase (June 12 – 26)
Instructor will meet with each participant in a one-on-one setting to use assessment tool to identify the student’s interests and creative strengths . (Scheduling for these sessions can be during class time or a time of the instructor and individual student’s choosing.
Week 3: In Person Group Meeting (June 26)
The group will meet one another and share the specifics goal that each student has chosen for exploring their unique creative path. Sharing is done via a structured process that bypasses self-consciousness or criticism.
Weeks 4 – 8: Online Phase (July 3 – 31)
In addition to working creatively, each week, participants will document those efforts by posting either a new creative piece of work or a progress report via the online platform.
Each participant will commit to look at the fellow students submissions and give constructive feedback using the TAG process. ( A well-supported constructive feedback process)
The instructor will facilitate all online process and touch base with each participant as needed.
