Explore Contemporary Watercolor Workshop
January 12, 2019 - January 13, 2019
Enjoy this two day workshop introduction to a variety of traditional and experimental watercolor techniques.
The first day will be spent learning how to use watercolor paint in a traditional manner. My teaching practice uses several sets of fun exercises to get students managing the ratio of paint to water and then complete a small simple still life painting.
The second day of the workshop will be spent learning about a variety of experimental methods you can use when using modern watercolor. Students will paint on a prepared textured ground, use gesso, learn resist and printing techniques. They will experiment with a variety of watercolor paints, metallics, watercolor crayons and pencils and paint on non- traditional papers. This is a great workshop to explore the arts as an intergenerational activity. Young artists ages 13 and over are welcome with an adult participant. This workshop would make a great holiday gift activity for a special person.
All professional quality materials are supplied. A materials fee of $40.00 is due to the instructor the first day of the workshop.
