RiverArts Seeks New ArtsAlive! Manager

RiverArts is actively seeking candidates for the position of ArtsAlive! Education Center Manager

The ArtsAlive! Manager manages and promotes the ArtsAlive! Education Center, including programmatic activities, community outreach and engagement, events, and stakeholder activities including classes, pop-up galleries, open houses, and other events and meetings. The ArtsAlive! Manager is responsible for management of the physical space, ensuring adequate supplies, set-up and clean up for varying uses, and maintaining the space as an attractive and welcoming participatory arts and learning center. As a key staff member in an active and growing non-profit organization, The ArtsAlive! Manager works collaboratively with staff and volunteers to organize, promote, and facilitate a busy calendar of events and activities. 


  • • Schedule, set up, and promote arts classes
    • • Develop and maintain relationships with instructors and students
    • • Take initiative to seek out instructors and classes, understanding and anticipating the needs and desires of the community as well as the mission and vision of the organization
    • • Maintain and report complete and accurate records of registration, attendance, income and expenses
  • • Work with Advisory Committee to develop and execute short-, medium-, and long-range strategic plans for the ArtsAlive! Center according to RiverArts’ mission and vision
  • • Track and report spending, adhering to the budget
  • • Manage and promote the physical ArtsAlive! space and all activities there
  • • Recruit and manage volunteers
  • • Post classes and events on RiverArts website 
  • • Plan and maintain the center’s social media presence with an eye to marketing and promotion as well as building and strengthening community relationships
  • • Write and send mass emails and press releases
  • • Design marketing materials including posters, rack cards, and flyers
  • • Organize and host events at ArtsAlive! including pop-up galleries, open houses, and other events 
  • • Develop and nurture partnerships with local groups and individuals to engage in mutually beneficial community collaborations 
  • • Attend and assist with occasional additional RiverArts events and activities as needed 

Necessary Skills/Qualities: 

  • • Ability to work with people from all parts of the local community and visiting guests, artists, and instructors
  • • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • • Logistical and organizational skills 
  • • Graphic design using online tools
  • • Facility with social media 
  • • Creative thinking and problem solving
  • • Ease and comfort with G Suite apps including Google Docs, Sheets, and other software tools
