Paint the Town Press Releases
Chestertown RiverArts invites artists to the 4th Annual “Paint the Town” scheduled for Thursday, April 25 through Sunday, April 28 on Maryland’s beautiful Eastern Shore.
This weekend will be filled with exciting activities and fun for plein air artists. Chestertown offers a wide range of subjects from historic streetscapes and gardens to the color and charm of the outdoor Farmers’ Market. Other special weekend events include a Washington College regatta on the Chester River and the annual Taste of the Town on Sunday. This non-juried event is open to plein air artists painting in all media and includes a “Wet Paint” exhibition and sale, 5-7 p.m. on Saturday evening, April 27 and a “Quick Draw” on Sunday morning, April 28. Prizes will be awarded at both events. A Friday cocktail reception and a Saturday dinner for artists are included in the registration cost.
At the conclusion of the Quick Draw competition, participating artists may leave up to four pieces of unsold work for the Chestertown RiverArts exhibition, “Second Look,” set to open on Friday, May 3, 5-8 p.m. and running through May 25.
“Paint the Town” space is limited and participation is on a “first-come, first-served basis” with submission of entry form and $40 fee. We will offer hosting for any out-of-area artists who request this on the participation form. The entry form is below and also can be found on the RiverArts website: www.chestertownriverarts.org.
