Learn to create fabulous mixed media images by applying acrylics, collage, pastels and stamping onto new watercolor paintings or old ones you would like to revive.
This workshop is about utilizing various techniques. The choice of subject matter is up to you, everything is fair game!
Bring a plastic cover for your work area and a water container. Several sheets of watercolor paper any weight will work fine. You can also use illustration board or even work over old paintings.
Please bring some of the following supplies. You needn’t bring everything on the list, we all can share.
A. Inexpensive pastels
Tube acrylics, black and white, other colors if you have them
You may also want to use Dry Wall Spackle applicators. A three-pack of different sizes costs around $3. I get mine from Home Depot.
A brayer (roller) like a print maker would use.
B. If you would like to experience the addition of collage to your work, bring Golden’s Gel Medium, Matte Finish and some scraps for collage.
C. Rubber Stamps
Empty toilet rolls for stamping.
I don’t want this to be overwhelming or costly. Please deal only with the materials from section A. If you have experimented with these sorts of materials before and would like to bring supplies listed in B. and C., feel free to bring more “stuff.”
I use aluminum foil or wax paper for a palette, but anything disposable is fine.
Bring your normal watercolor supplies if you want to work in watercolor. I use a minimum of watercolor, mostly inexpensive acrylics, but I will work with you with whatever water media you like.
