Melissa Kay-Steves is an award winning artist, instructor, and the founder of Charmtree Jewlery.

She has been making jewelry for more than 25 years. Her creations are deeply influenced by nature and the beauty of Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay. She is a level II certified PMC artist and instructor, and level 1 ArtClay Silver artist, teaching jewelry classes to middle school and elementary school children in the after school program in Queen Anne’s County Maryland and at the local library and other businesses. She is a Member of  Kent Island Federation of Arts and A.R.T. East. Her awards include Technical Merit at the Centreville Artisan’s Festival in 2009, Finalist, Fire Mountain Gems Jewelry Competition 2009 & 2010.

Loopy Hoops Earrings Workshop

Let’s face it, you can never have too many pairs of earrings. In this fun workshop you will make two gorgeous pairs of mixed metal hoop earrings. Students will be introduced to cold connections, forming, wrapping and texturing wire. They will also learn how to safely use a butane torch to make balled headpins for crystal wrapped drops and earwires.
