Children’s Jewelry-Making Workshop

For children ages 8-13
Cost: $125 for six sessions

Clara Daining, professional jewelry-maker and master crafter, is leading a series of after-school workshops in jewelry-making for kids. Each week, children will tackle a new project, listed below. The six-week workshop, which starts Monday, October 13, will be held from 4-5 p.m.
Project: Memory Wire Bracelet
Special Topic: Intro to Jewelry Making/History of Jewelry/Fun Facts
Project: Button Rings
Special Topic: Upcycled/Repurposed Jewelry
Supplies: Class brings in buttons
Project: Paper Bead Jewelry (Bracelets and/or Necklaces)
Special Topic: Use of Patterns/Colors
Project: Beaded Dragonfly Pendant
Special Topic: Finding Inspiration–Online Resources for Jewelry Making: Pinterest, Etsy, Free Online Ebooks, Epatterns, YouTube Tutorials
Project: Decoupage Jewelry Boxes
Special Topic: Taking Care of Your Jewelry
Supplies: Class brings personally chosen/theme scraps of paper—photos, cutouts from catalogs and magazines, etc., to decoupage wooden boxes to store their jewelry
Project: Multi Media Necklace
Special Topic: Your Imagination is the Limit
Supplies: Students bring greeting cards; fabric; found objects of significant meaning—charms, buttons, ribbon
