Beginning Wheel: This class is for beginning pottery students with little or no pottery wheel experience, and those who have taken introductory wheel classes and wish to have more instruction. Students will be working with high-fire stoneware clay. They will learn the fundamental techniques of preparing clay, throwing on the wheel, trimming and glazing.
Fees: Tuition includes your first 25 lbs of clay and bisque firing. There is an extra fee for subsequent glaze firings dependent on the size of your pieces. Toolkits are available for purchase during the first class meeting for $25.
About the Instructor: Rick Bisgyer has been a full time ceramic artist for the last 12 years. He holds a degree in Education and has been teaching both at Chestertown RiverArts and Baltimore Clayworks for the past 4 years. His work was been displayed at national and regional fine craft shows and galleries across the country.
